It’s been a tough week around here. At my doctor’s visit yesterday (still in Lyme treatment) I must have given off a train wreck vibe, because my doc pushed an extra prescription on me to help me calm the hell down.
Stress has caused my symptoms to go haywire and it’s impossible to tell if the current treatment is working. This extra med sounds a bit over the top, so I haven’t taken it. I’m not sure that I will. I don’t need to be any more spacey than I already am.
The count down to Christmas is looming over me. Although I’m running low on time and energy, I’m going to make time for a little fun here. I need it.
My friend Melanie over at Scribbles and Smiles tagged me in a game of blogger tag and gave me five questions to answer. If you are looking for a fun, uplifting blog with lots of yummy food to drool over, check her out!
1. What is your favorite Christmas song?
What Child Is This is my favorite carol. And I love, love, love Baby It’s Cold Outside. And Last Christmas (the original by George Michael) is also on my favorites list.
2. If you could spend Christmas anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I can’t possibly pick a single place. I would love to visit a wintery European country for Christmas. Or I could go for a tropical island getaway. I’m flexible. Make me an offer. I’ll go just about anywhere that’s not Texas.
3. Do you eat Christmas lunch or dinner, or both?
Dinner. Just dinner. Lots of appetizers before dinner. Lots of dessert after.
Let’s not forget breakfast! That guy I married and I eat homemade Scottish shortbread and drink coffee while the kids tear through their gifts. No, neither of us are Scottish.
4. What is your favorite Christmas movie?
Elf. I didn’t have to think about that for a second. I follow Buddy the Elf year-round on Facebook. I feel like I should say It’s A Wonderful Life or something like that, but Son of A Nutcracker, old movies irk me.
5. What’s the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
There are too many to list. When I was five, my grandmother gave me a little wooden music box. It was in a shiny red box with a bow on it. I carried it around trying to guess what was inside for a week. I still treasure it. My daughters have given me many gifts that brought on tears of joy. A few years back my husband bought me a Pandora bracelet. He chose each bead carefully and each has a special meaning.
Now it’s my turn to tag a few bloggers and demand they answer my questions. So, Julie, Janine, Wendy, Terrye, Cyndi and Emily you ladies are it! If you’ve already been tagged or don’t have time to participate, no worries. If you have a few minutes I’d love to hear the answers to these questions:
- If you could have anything you want this Christmas, what would it be?
- If you had tons of money, what would you give your spouse?
- Do you have a secret awesome gift that you can’t wait to give someone this year?
- Are you already looking forward to January and all of this being over? (sorry, I’m a little grinchy this year).
And now I will leave you with a clip of one of my favorite songs from my favorite Christmas movie. Please remember to stick to the four food groups this holiday.
We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.-Buddy the Elf
