The Princess has been asking for her own cat for months. Her older sisters both have cats of their own (that I insist they share with me). She wanted a kitten to care for, feed, play with all day and snuggle up with at night.
We waited. We talked about it. We waited a little while longer. Finally, Cookie came home to live with us, just in time for the holidays. My little girl is thrilled.
I’m turning into a cat lady. And I love it.
All of our animals (currently 3 cats and a dog) are adopted. Rescuing animals in need has been a wonderful, positive experience for our family.
Adopting a Pet this Holiday Season
If you are considering giving a pet as a gift this holiday season, please consider adopting, rather than purchasing an animal from a pet store. Consider the long term costs of pet ownership before making a commitment to an new animal.
And please remember, animals are not toys.
