Winter in Connecticut – Wordless Wednesday

Autumn snow storm 003

Winter Storm Photo by D.Landisman

This photo was taken during Alfred, a storm that left us without power for 9 days.  The winters here in Connecticut have brought us far more snow than we expected, along with plenty of damage to our house and land.

The upside? The kids love it. It’s beautiful (for the first few days). The animals comes out of the woods to play.

Here’s a quick look at the past few winters:

This post is part of Wordless Wednesdays at Pictimilitude.  And no, I cannot be wordless.

I am with you Amy and cannot be completely wordless, lol!! Seriously loved your pics of the winter storms. The snow always looks so peaceful and serene. While not a fan of it or the cold weather (am more of a summer fir), I always love looking at pics of it though. Just so pretty!! :)

I am home, watching TV under an electric throw and your photos made me shiver!!! Affirmation of my post earlier this morning!

Oh, stop it! Your pic is so cute! Plus, Dave took the two best pics in this collection (the deer and the dog). Apparently, I’m best with things that don’t move!

Thanks Cyndi. :) I wish we didn’t have so much snow around here…but it is pretty!

Yes! The peacefulness is my favorite part of a fresh snowfall. But I get tired of it within a couple of days. By February I’ll be crying that I want to go to a tropical island. :)

Sorry to make you shiver! I’m shivering here too – need one of those electric blankets!

the closest I come to like Winter is watching our dog Una enjoy fresh snow. You can see energy and happy enthusiasm in her as she runs for the pure joy of running around in the snow. Being a smaller dog (a Chodsky Pes) she does that ‘bounding run’ when she tries to chase something, very fun to watch ‘cellent photos

Nope, still not missing snow! :) Great pictures tho!

Haha! Glad I’m not the only one who couldn’t do the wordless part. Your pictures took my breath away quite literally. We don’t get snow here, only up in the mountains. You’re so lucky. I’d love to spend one winter in a cabin somewhere surrounded by snow. Beautiful pics!
