Lake Tashmoo – Wordless Wednesday

Tashmoo

Lake Tashmoo at dusk. Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts

After years of exploring Martha’s Vineyard on our summer vacations, we discovered a bumpy, sandy road that led out to edge of Tashmoo Lake.  It’s quiet, beautiful and perfect for little ones to explore without the ocean waves knocking them down.

This photo was taken by my husband as the sun was going down and the tide was going out.  And the little girl in the photo is the Butterfly (now 9), at 18 months old. I miss summer. And I miss that tiny little hand in mine.

We’ve spent many a summer vacation on Cape Cod (and one on Martha’s Vineyard as well) so I can relate to this photo and that longing for summer…it’s coming, I promise! Beautiful photo – both the lighting as well as the soft waves.

Beautiful image! And…your photo fits in well with the theme of images that I’ve picked for today, so this is great. :) Happy Wednesday.

What a gorgeous picture. The sunlight on the water is just perfect. What a precious memory.

(tiny planet time!) I grew up on the Vineyard…can’t recall going to Lake Tashmoo, but I was 7 when we moved so I suspect I didn’t have that much of a say.
    fun post
