I broke this week. There’s a man to blame (of course), but this time it isn’t Dave. Thanks to Jerry at Cooking Stoned, I fell off the “I’m so superior I don’t even eat cheese” wagon.
You see, he posted a recipe for the most beautiful guacamole grilled cheese sandwich I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t wait until I had all the right ingredients to give it a try. This is what my attempt looked like:
To see what it was supposed to look like, check out the pic and recipe at Cooking Stoned. Mine may be lame in comparison, but it still tasted amazing. While you’re there, have a good look around. Try not to drool on your computer.
News Completely Unrelated to Cheese (because cheese consumption is not the center of my life):
We’ve been insanely busy this week with rehearsals for the Wizard of Oz. I had to make a Toto costume for the Butterfly. I have blisters on my hands. I have no clue how I managed to create something acceptable, but I am so proud of myself. I was the only mom whose costumes passed the director’s evaluation and were approved. This is huge for me because crafting, sewing, cutting in a straight line…kind of not my forte.
Here she is, with a couple of barks:
I spent a fair amount of time this week pondering the pros and cons of being a part of a homeschool co-op. We’ve been participating in a co-op for the past few weeks. I’m not sure what the kids are getting out of it.
I’ve learned a ton about myself in the process though.
- I see myself as sweet and non-confrontational. I’m not.
- I don’t play well with others.
- I can’t keep my opinions to myself, hard as I may try.
- Being straight forward and honest doesn’t always work in my favor.
- I may need anger management counseling.
Moving on…
We spent one day at home to recover from being on the go. The girls spent the day learning how to edit and polish videos complete with sound and special effects. Then they gave stop motion animation a shot, just for fun (videos coming soon!).
Along the way this week we visited with friends, enjoyed the spring weather at the park. The most relaxing part of our week was spent taking a little time paint with watercolor.
The chaos will likely continue for the next 5 days with the show’s tech week (starting tomorrow). This week may or may not include cheese. I’m not making any promises that I can’t keep.
