It is important to affirm what they are capable of doing.

I didn’t look for this, a tab was opened in my browser to this page and I don’t know how it happened. I read to see why the page was opened, I didn’t open it and live alone. I’m glad somehow this happened, so i could see your replies, and my note, that I have a hard time believing I wrote, But know I did. I’m glad to have the chance to say i’m sorry, and I hope it means something, if either of you are notified it it is here.

I didn’t mean to seem so cold, but I see that I did. my son was killed, VIOLENTLY in a drunk driving crash, hit head n by a total stranger. I have PTSD, and I just wanted people to care as much about the violence on our roads every single day but s many have become numb to. it isn’t worse that it was all at once, every life taken matters just as much as any other. Its more shocking when its so intentional and all a once, but the loved ones left behind are not hurting any less, and the pain doesn’t end any sooner when its a different sudden act of violence that takes your child…. I am sorry for how I came off, and wish I had made my point more gently. Of course, like the rest of the world, I was and am also heartbroken for every person hurt by this horrible and cruel act. I am the last one who would ever usually seem uncaring, I was likely having a PTSD reaction to something, or feeling that my sons life didnt matter as much. poeple read about a drunk driving fatality and as soon as they turn away from the story its forgotten. NO ONE wants their child, or the violence that took them forgotten, or minimized. I didn’t mean to do that to these families. My heart goes out, still, and always, to all.

I wanted to add one more resource to your list at the end. The Peer Unschooling Network (http://peerunschooling.net) is an amazing place for young unschoolers to connect with one another. I highly recommend it to anyone reaching that middle/high school age.
