I’m a mom of three little women. They are: The Adventurer (age 16), The Butterfly (age 12 ) and The Princess (age 8).
I’m a freelance writer and editor. In addition to blogging here at Adorable Chaos, I maintain a blog about my struggle with New Daily Persistent Headache and Lyme Disease. I am also the editor of Connecticut Homeschooling Magazine, a start-up news site for home educating parents in CT.
For more information about my professional qualifications, please see my Hire Me page.
The mission of Adorable Chaos is:
- To help you laugh through your own parenting chaos. It is possible to love your mayhem!
- To provide support and inspiration on your parenting path, whether you are a homeschooling parent or not.
- To raise awareness and facilitate understanding of homeschooling and the natural learning process.
- To encourage parents on a peaceful path of parenting, including learning how to stay connected to your children into and through the teen years.
More about me:
A native New Yorker, I now call myself a New Englander. It took time to fall in love with the antiques homes, rolling hills, deep woods and long winters here, but the more I explore, with my children in tow, the deeper my love grows.
We transitioned from public school to home education five years ago for a variety of reasons. My main focus now is building and maintaining meaningful, loving relationships with my children and learning joyfully from the world around us.
It may sound pretty and perfect, or radical and extreme, but it isn’t any of these all of the time. It’s often a wild ride, filled with sisterly love and war, me hiding out in the bathroom in search of quiet and plenty of friends and family who just don’t understand why we do what we do.
And it’s okay with me.
There are daily moments, however brief and fleeting, that reassure me that we are on the right path.
Welcome to my adorable chaos.
Amy
